Sacraments of Initiation

Baptism
By Baptism, we become members of the Church, the Body of Christ. In Baptism, the Holy Spirit moves us to answer Christ’s call to holiness. In Baptism, we are asked to walk by the light of Christ and to trust in his wisdom. We are invited to submit our hearts to Christ with an ever deeper love.

Communion
The Eucharist, Catholics believe is truly the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, is the central focus of the Catholic faith, since it is Jesus Himself. Therefore, being able to receive the Eucharist for the first time is called “First Communion” or First Holy Communion

Confirmation
Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifts, and his biddings – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life.

Eucharist
Jesus gives himself to us in the Eucharist as spiritual nourishment because he loves us. Click here to learn about the true presence of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The preparation for First Communion is a two-year process.
Sacraments of Healing

The Sacrament of Reconciliation - Penance
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the seven (7) Sacraments. It is an opportunity to say sorry and ask God for forgiveness when we turn our backs on Him in sin. In His abundant love and mercy, Jesus Christ forgives and blesses us with the grace to grow in virtue and holiness, thus becoming the best version of ourselves.

Anointing of the Sick
Jesus came to heal the whole person, body, and soul. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit’s gift of peace and courage to deal with the difficulties that accompany serious illness or the frailty of old age.
Sacraments of Vocation

Holy Orders
Those who seek priesthood respond generously to God’s call using the words of the prophet, “Here I am, send me” (Is 6:8). This call from God can be recognized and understood from the daily signs that disclose his will to those in charge of discerning the candidate’s vocation. Click here to learn more about Holy Orders.

A Beautiful Place to Receive the Sacrament of Marriage
The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant, which is more than a contract. A covenant always expresses a relationship between persons. The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between the husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God. The celebration of marriage is also a liturgical act, appropriately held in a public liturgy at church.
